Travel Friendly Silicone Mermaid Tail (Water Fairy)- Want a silicone mermaid tail but don't want to break your back or the bank? This travel friendly silicone mermaid tail design maintains the realistic look and feel of classic silicone mermaid tails at a fraction of the cost and a fraction of the weight. Whereas traditional silicone tails weigh anywhere from 30-50lbs, this "Water Fairy" design from Mermaid Travel Tails weighs between 15-20 lbs (give or take a few pounds, depending on your body shape and size). AND you can fold it up in a little log and take it anywhere you want to go. :)

This Water Fairy style of lightweight silicone mermaid tail comes in two official colors - Daydream and Oracle. However, if you would like to have this style of mermaid tail in a different color, you can either select the "surprise me" option and we will send you a special tail in this style with a random color. Or, you can email me at Shadow@MermaidTravelTails.com with the subject line "Custom Color" to discuss the possibility of a custom colored tail. Please note that because we use internal pigment instead of external paint, customization options are limited. So we can't do stripes and such- just scale tipping and simple color gradients, mostly (1-3 colors per tail).

DAYDREAM: The Daydream coloration of the Water Fairy silicone mermaid tail style features a white, gold and mint green color scheme. This tail is super dreamy looking and looks incredible in low light situations (and on sunny days too lol). It has a white base with gold tipped scales. The fins are mint green, as is the fluke. The fluke fades to white at the tips in certain lighting situations. This tail is EXTREMELY sparkly.

ORACLE: The Oracle coloration of the Water Fairy silicone mermaid tail style features the colors gold, black and sky blue. The base of this tail is black with embedded dark blue sparkles. The edges of the scales are gold and the fins of the tail are sky blue. On the fluke, there are thick black "veins" running to the end of the tail. This tail is also EXTREMELY sparkly. The camera can't handle its awesomeness enough to show you though, so you'll have to find out for yourself. :)

WHY GET A MERMAID TRAVEL TAIL?

Lightweight - While traditional dragon skin silicone mermaid tails weigh anywhere from 30-50 lbs (or more), Mermaid Travel Tails tend to weigh much less. This Water Fairy design weighs 15-20 lbs (give or take a few pounds based on your specific measurements).

Travel Friendly - Silicone mermaid tails from Mermaid Travel Tails have an opening in the fluke that allows you to put your own monofin inside. This means that the silicone tail skin can be folded and rolled up to fit neatly in a carry-on bag or some backpacks. Much better than having to put your tail in your checked luggage where it can get lost or damaged. Wouldn't you agree?

Realistic - While Mermaid Travel Tails do have an opening at the end of the fluke, this opening seals itself shut with minimum overlap when swimming in the water (it can still be seen on land in some positions - heads up!). This allows for a realistic look when swimming in the water for professional mermaid events or for videos / photos. The scales on the tails are raised, so they have a realistic appearance and feel real when touched.

Soft Waist - The silicone at the waist of the tail is thin and stretchy. It does not cause a "mermaid muffin top" like many tails do. Rather, it sits in a way that is flattering to the body. You don't even need to wear a swim scarf with these tails (unless you want to. Cuz they are stylish!).

Custom Fit - Mermaid Travel Tails are custom made to fit your body. However, no pesky duct tape dummy is needed. Simply follow the instructions on our size guide to get your tail tailored to fit your body!

Less Expensive - Traditional silicone mermaid tails usually cost at least $3,000 usd. Which is understandable - they're custom made by individual artists who deserve the money for their time and hard work. But, that can be a lot of money to spend on a mermaid tail and doesn't work with everyone's budget. Since Mermaid Travel Tails are more simple, less customizable and factory made, they are produced at a cheaper price. That said, they are not a replacement for the beautiful pieces of art made by individual tailmakers - just another option on the tail market!

Internal Pigmentation - Did you know that Mermaid Travel Tails are not painted? The colors you see on the tails are incorporated into the silicone when it is poured. This means that the color will not be lost when you scrape the tail. Yep. No need to make paint repairs! The tails also have glitter embedded into them, so they shine brightly without causing pollution (always rinse your tail before your first swim, since some loose glitter from the factory may stick to it... as is the nature of glitter). When I say that these tails are sparkly, I mean they are SO sparkly that you won't even believe it. Since cameras don't pick up on sparkles well, you'll have to see a tail for yourself to know just how glittery they are!

Quick Delivery - Because these tails are factory made, they can be produced faster than regular hand-made tails. That said, we don't want to overwork our workers. So expect at least 1 month for your tail to be made and at least one week for it to be shipped to your home after it is made. Please be aware that there may be delays in production or shipping during Chinese or US holidays.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

*Monofin not included. For this design, we recommend the Mahina monofin in order to fill out the fluke of the tail well. However, smaller professional monofins can be used as well. Do NOT use this tail without a monofin or with a toy monofin.

**Tails take at least 1 month to be made and take approximately 1 week to ship to the USA. This time is subject to change in the event of natural disasters, special holidays or if we have tons of tons of orders all at once.

***These tails are made in a factory in China and are made of a lightweight food-grade silicone that is both durable and stretchy- it is the same type of silicone used to make baby bottle nipples. These tails are not made with the same material as traditional medical-grade dragon skin silicone mermaid tails. While food-grade silicone is high quality and is generally considered safe, it is not as heavily regulated or tested for skin contact safety. Please keep this in mind when purchasing this product. Thin leggings can be worn under the tails if this is a concern.
